Coquetdale young women launch cracking business for Christmas

Four enterprising students from King Edwards VI High School (KEVI), Morpeth, have launched a new business called Sugar & Spice. The company, selling homemade cupcakes and chocolate, will have a stall at the Christmas Market at Morpeth Market on Saturday, 30 November.

Sugar & Spice is the brainchild of Theia Batchelor, Lily Hawes-Lamb, Ellen Packer and Ellie Waddington and has been created as part of a Youth Trader challenge held by Sanderson’s Arcade for entrepreneurial students at KEVI.

The team of young women from Coquetdale will be selling their homemade Christmas-themed cupcakes and chocolate to local Christmas shoppers. If the first outing for the new business proves successful, Sugar & Spice will target local shows in Northumberland during 2014.

You can follow Sugar & Spice on Facebook at facebook.com/coquetdalesugarandspice or visit their stall in Morpeth on Saturday.
